Bee Green Ecocrafts

From King Edward VII School

‘Bee Green’ Eco-crafts aims to make Sheffield a cleaner, greener, and more eco-friendly place, as well as to encourage students to show more interest in the environment and appreciate the value of nature. Out of recyclable, used material or natural resources, I make artsy nature-themed crafts such as birdfeeders, insect feeders and hotels, plant pots, seed bombs, cards, and wall-hangings. I go for litter picking in my neighborhood, and from the rubbish I pick, I create crafts that attract wildlife to Sheffield’s neighborhoods and help its flora and fauna. Low cost, aesthetic value, environmentally consciousness!

Target market: The main target groups of this business are students and children, as I want to change their perception about nature.

WINTER IS HERE, WHAT CAN YOU DO TO HELP THE BIRDS?

As winter is approaching, birds like house sporrows, common black birds, long tailed tits and starlings are searching for a warm, safe shelter that can provide enough food, comfort and protection from Sheffiled's bitter winter weather. It is very important to show empathy to the wild life around us, especially garden birds that need our help; Bee Green Eco-Crafts' aim is to support the UK's fauna, by creating cozy shelters and bird-feeders. Hanging a bird feeder outside in your garden is a small act that that can help keep safe local birds: save nature!

HOW THEY ARE MADE:

The process of building eco-friendly bird-feeders includes a lot of painting, hard work and creativity. I use plastic water bottles, empty milk cartons and juice burst bottles, which I collect from around the neighborhood when I go litter-picking, the bin and or even the school's dining hall. Bee Green Eco-Crafts values re-using recyclable material and making use of what we already have; this way, not only I find material to make artsy bird feeders, but I also clean the environment around me.

FILLING:

Fresh fruit, big seeds, nuts, raisins.
